Highlights include:

A new “Section” field is being added to the positioning metadata in the Ad Ticket format.

Several new usage guidelines are being added to the Media Pack and Bookings specifications in order to address questions that have been raised by implementers. (The schemas of these two standards will not change.)

The AdsML website will also be modified so that users can download just the changed components of the Framework, rather than having to download the entire package.

Beginning with the next release of the AdsML Framework, which is targeted for mid April, users will be able to convey the duration of an advertisement using a dedicated “Duration” element. Until now it was necessary to use a user-defined property for this purpose. Duration can be expressed in any desired unit of measure: seconds, minutes, hours, etc. The Duration element will be available wherever it is currently possible to describe an advertisement’s size.

This new feature is entirely optional and backwards-compatible.
